Monday, May 10th, 1943 - Tuesday, October 10th, 2023

A graveside service for Richard Bruce Renken, age 80, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Enid, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Zion Luthern Cemetery in Lahoma, with Pastor Kenneth Wade officiating. The United States Navy will provide military honors. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Richard was born May 10, 1943 in Enid to Hank and Vera (Lowrey) Renken, and passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023 in Oklahoma City.

After graduating from Lahoma High School, he received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. He joined the United States Navy in November of 1965, and was honorably discharged in November of 1971. Richard had many work interests; he was the Vice President of the Ponca City Chamber of Commerce; worked in the Governor's office; worked in the oil and gas industry with Cactus Energy; owned and operated Electronic Supply Company in Oklahoma City, as well as several other jobs. He was a member of the Lahoma Zion Lutheran Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Midwest City, OK, and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Enid.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hank and Vera Renken, brother Marvin Renken and sister, Arlene Ediger. He is survived by two sons, Eric Renken and wife Mary, of Ponca City, OK; Aaron Renken and wife Bigya, of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Brett Renken and wife Emma, of Ann Arbor, MI; Taylor Sugg and husband Austin, of Paris, TX; Nirvan KC, of Oklahoma City; as well as four great-grandchildren, Lane, Coleman, Hartley, and Caddo.

Memorial contributions in Richard's name may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church in Lahoma with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds,
