Burial will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory. Candy was born October 11, 1963, at Aurora, CO to J.T. and Carol Howard and passed away Friday, March 3, 2023, in Enid.

Candy graduated in 1982 from Miller High School in South Dakota. She then moved back to Enid, Oklahoma, where she met Jimmy Burnett. They moved to Aurora, Colorado, and got married on May 15, 1986.

Candy worked for Aurora Public Schools for many years in Colorado, where she loved nothing more than helping children. She most recently worked in Enid, Oklahoma, for Robi Chatterji M.D., where she worked in billing and medical records alongside her daughter. Recently Candy changed to part-time to take care of her granddaughter. Nothing brought her more joy than taking her granddaughter home every day.

Candy loved nothing more than to have the family together, whether that meant going to dinners, getting everyone together at the house, or making vacation plans. She was immensely proud of her family and would put them before anything else, she was selfless and always wanted to take care of everyone.

Candy is survived by her husband Jimmy, children Jennifer Pekrul and husband Gregory, Ryan Burnett and wife Andrea, Brian Burnett and wife Elizabeth and Teresa Burnett, 4 grandchildren Cody, Owen, Harrison and Rylynn, and a sister Patty Seim and husband Ron. Candy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Cheryl Sawyer and her aunt and uncle Don and Alice Keller of Miller, South Dakota.
