August 25, 1927 - October 10, 2020

Funeral service for Gene Hisey, 93, of Hunter will be at 10:30 a.m. at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, Enid, Oklahoma with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will be in the White Cemetery, Hunter. Arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory. Due to Covid 19, the family strongly suggests masks be worn.

Gene was born on August 25, 1927 in Hunter, Oklahoma to John Everett and Gladys Ann (Cogswell) Hisey and passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 in Enid.

Gene grew up in Hunter and graduated from Hunter High School. He served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1947. On June 5, 1949 he married Norma Foltz at Davis Park Christian Church in Enid and they made their home on a farm near Hunter. In 1976, they moved into Hunter. Gene was a wheat farmer and also worked for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS). He was a member of the Hunter United Methodist Church.

Gene is survived by his wife Norma and his 4 children: Deborah Robinson of Pond Creek, Kent Hisey of Enid, John Hisey (Susan) of Hunter, and Darla Hisey of Stillwater; 8 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother Dean Hisey, sister Jennie Campbell, and his daughter-in-law Janis Hisey.
