Waukomis Cemetery


Funeral services for Emma L. Urban, 83, who died Thursday evening in a local nursing home, will be at 2 PM Sunday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

Rev. Raymond Horner will officiate and burial will be in the Waukomis Cemetery.

Mrs. Urban was born October 11, 1886, at Meade, Kansas. She traveled from Meade to Caldwell, Kansas, and across the unoccupied territory of Oklahoma to Kingfisher in a covered wagon. Her parents made the Run and the family settled on a Homestead 5 miles south of Enid.

Miss Urban attended a rural school near Enid. She moved to Chicago about 1933 and return to Enid in 1968. Her parents, two brothers and three sisters predeceased her.

Survivors include a brother, Laddie Urban of Enid; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Ella) Semrad of Enid and Mrs. Floyd (Steva) Clark, Waukomis; several nieces and nephews.
