ENID, OK — Funeral for Carroll William “CW” Roberts, 87, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2104, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Wade Burleson will officiate. Burial will follow in Waukomis Cemetery under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

CW was born April 24, 1927, in Weaverville, N.C., to Frank and Annie Roberts and passed away at his home early Saturday morning, May 12, 2014.

He married Oleta Henneke May 3, 1953, in Drummond, Oklahoma.

CW served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked for Champlin Petroleum Co. as a materials expediter for 32 years.

CW was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, Sunday school superintendent, Bereans Sunday school class member and Gideon’s International member. CW served as a volunteer at Bass hospital and was past-president of volunteers. He was a past board member of Campfire Girls. He went as a volunteer missionary to Honduras, where he enjoyed building churches.

CW is survived by his wife Oleta of the home; children Judy and Don McClung of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Jeanne and Tim Andrew of Grove, Oklahoma, Ricky and Laquita Roberts of Enid, Ray and Tamera Roberts of Arden, N.C.; grandchildren, Crystal, Joe, Gina, Jyl, Micah, Tara, Tyler, Rebekah, and Ethan; great-grandchildren, Garrick, Siri, Jeramyah, Derrick, Gunter, Emry, and Leightyn; three brothers, Rex Roberts of Weaverville, N.C., Ervin Roberts of Marshall, N.C., and Lynn Roberts of Weaverville, N.C.; three sisters, Loretta Plemmons of Marshall, N.C., Gail Cutshall of Ashville, N.C., and June Bearden of Savannah, Tennessee; and several other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Josephine Lanning and Vivian Price.

Memorials may be made to Gideon’s International or Hospice Circle of Love, with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of funds.
