Billie Roades
October 24, 1932 - January 9, 2023

The Memorial services celebrating and honoring the life of Billie Marie Roades, 90, of Waukomis will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday January 15, 2023, in the Waukomis Christian Church with Pastor David Jones officiating. Burial took place previously in the Waukomis Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Billie was born October 24, 1932, to WH and Dorothy Walker Cox in Wakita, Oklahoma and passed from this life January 9, 2023, in Enid, Oklahoma. She grew up in Hawley, Oklahoma and later moved to Enid, graduating from Enid High School in 1949. She married Bobby E. Roades June 30, 1950 and moved into the house he built for her in Waukomis. They purchased the Landwehr Chevrolet building on Main Street and opened Roades Garage, which would later become the Tag Agency of Waukomis. Married for sixty-seven years, Billie and Bob were always together and involved in whatever Bob's passion was at the time.

Throughout the years, they collected and restored antique cars and belonged to many car clubs, participating in car shows all over the United States. In 1952 she joined the Waukomis Christian Church and was very active in the church choir and on the board. She sewed for everyone in the family and was a part of her everyday life but when Lacey was born, she was in Heaven, making every Daisy Kingdom dress there was. Also passionate for quilting, there are many beautiful quilts for her family to enjoy. In 2019 Billie ws Co Marshall of the Sooner Celebration Parade.

Above all else, She was Lacey's Grandmother and Cole's Great-Grandmother, they gave her more joy than anything she did in her life. Everything revolved around them.

She is survived by her children, Vickie and Robert, granddaughter, Lacey (Jeff) Adams; and great grandson Cole, of Shore Acres, Texas; siblings, Kathiann Long, Colleen Thomason, Greg Cox, and Darrell Cox.

Preceding her in death were her siblings, Dorothy Lee Riggle, William (Bill) Cox, & Dennis Cox.

Memorials may be made in her honor to Waukomis Christian Church or the Community Health Center, Wakita, OK.

Condolences and special memories may be shared with the family online at www.Brown-Cummings.com.
