Waukomis Cemetery


WAUKOMIS — Funeral service for Claire Pitman, 85, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Waukomis Methodist Church with the Rev. Garry Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in Waukomis Cemetery . Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home has been entrusted with the service. The casket will be open at the funeral home only until 10 p.m. today.

Claire was born Jan. 9, 1925, in Enid, Okla., the daughter of Charles and Clara Payson Byrd and passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at the home.

Mrs. Pitman was raised and educated in Enid, graduating in 1943. Shortly after graduating she met and married the love of her life, Charles Robert Pitman, from Waukomis . They were married May 19, 1944, and lived in Waukomis all their life. Mr. Pitman preceded her in death in March 1983.

Claire was a member of Waukomis Methodist Church for over 60 years.

Claire is survived by three children, Mike Pitman of Drummond, Kari DeLier of Tyler, Texas, and Tony Pitman of Waukomis . Mrs. Pitman was blessed with eight grandchildren, Dean Pitman, Makala Welsh, Mason Pitman, Michael DeLier, Matthew DeLier, Katy Webb, Chelsi Dotson and Jessi Pitman and six adorable great-grandchildren, with another on the way. Claire has a wealth of friends who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly.

Memorials may be made to Waukomis Methodist Church or OMRF, cancer division, with Ladusau-Evans acting as custodian of the memorials.
