The funeral service honoring and celebrating the life of Mr. Bob R. Meyer, 88, Waukomis, is 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. John Hauser of Son Grace Music Ministries (SGMM) officiating and Pastor Carl Roberts of Grace Ministries Church co-officiating. The Graveside Service follows in the Waukomis Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home, 400 W. Maple, Enid; 580-237-5432. The family will receive guests at a family visitation 6-8 p.m. today, Dec. 15, 2016, at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

He was born to James and Leah Fox Meyer Oct. 15, 1928, in Slapout. He was raised as a young child in Slapout, before moving to Enid for a brief time. The family moved to Waukomis, where he was raised and educated, graduating from high school in 1946. After high school, he worked as a ranch hand and mechanic before enlisting in the United States Navy on August 8, 1950. He married Hazel Williams August 24, 1952, in Enid.

He served his country with distinction during the Korean War as a (ME2) Metal Smith 2nd Class, and was Honorably Discharged on June 16, 1954. He returned to Waukomis and worked as an implement and auto mechanic. He owned and operated D&M Auto Repair and Salvage. He was also a rural route mail carrier for over 20 years, retiring in 1996. He was a gentle man, dedicated to his God, his family, and his community. He was a longtime, active and instrumental member and choir member of the Waukomis United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Hauser was his pastor. Recently, he had become a fellowship member at Grace Ministries Church of Enid, where Pastor Carl Roberts was his pastor. He was a member of the Waukomis Volunteer Fire Dept. for over 25 years.

He had a passion for music and was a gifted guitar player and singer. After his retirement, he hand-built a Model A pickup truck, part by part, himself.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years of the home; sons, Jerry Meyer Sr.; and David Meyer Sr. and his wife, Debbie; daughters, Teresa Sissney and husband, Raymond; and Mary Meyer; nine grandchildren, Jerry Jr., James, Justin, David Jr., Michelle, Jon, Ashley, Suzanne, Amber and Leahton; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Memorials may be made in Bob Meyer's honor, in lieu of flowers, to Grace Ministries Church, or to Son Grace Music Ministries (SGMM), with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Hazel P. Meyer, of Waukomis will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday October 26, 2018 at the Waukomis United Methodist Church with Reverend John Hauser officiating and Pastor Carl Roberts assisting. Burial will follow in the Waukomis Cemetery. A Family Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday October 25, 2018 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Hazel was born December 29, 1934 in Ringwood, OK. to Bennie and Mary Alice Williams and entered into heaven October 21, 2018 in Ingram, TX., while visiting relatives. She was a current resident of The Golden Oaks Village, in Enid, OK.

She was raised and educated in Ringwood and moved with her family to Enid at the age of seven. She worked at the Waukomis Daughertys Café and Skating Rink. She married Bobby Meyer on August 24, 1952 in Enid. She was a devoted mother and wife. After raising their children, she worked at J.C. Pennys downtown and later sold Mary Kay for thirty-six years. She was a former member of the Waukomis United Methodist Church, and the last eighteen years she attended and worshiped at Grace Ministries of Enid. She was a woman of God and helped serve with Son Grace Music Ministries (SGMM) and traveled with the ministry for over twelve years, with Christian Recording Artist Filese Hauser, continually serving as GODS ARMOR BEARER.

She enjoyed sewing, baking, traveling and had a gift for poetry but, most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by sons, Jerry Meyer Sr. and David Meyer Sr. and his wife Debbie, daughters, Teresa Sissney and husband Raymond and Mary Meyer, nine grandchildren, Jerry Jr., James, Justin, David Jr., Michelle, Jon, Ashley, Suzanne, Amber and Leahton, 20 great grandchildren, and beloved Brother and Sister in Christ, Rev. John and Filese Hauser.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of over 64 years.

In lieu of flowers Memorials in her name may be made to Son Grace Music Ministries (SGMM) or Grace Ministries Church with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
