Waukomis Cemetery


Waukomis – Graveside services for Tom McClurg, 60, who died Wednesday at an Enid hospital, will be at 10 AM Saturday at Waukomis Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Hilton officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home.

He was born August 14, 1928 in Enid and graduated from Enid High School, where he was on the football team. He attended the University of Oklahoma and Phillips University. In 1949 he married Doody Mitchell.

McClurg worked for Long Bell Lumber Company, managed Enid Concrete and was the first manager of The Enid Ambulance Company. He also farmed southeast of Waukomis. He later was co-owner and manager of J & T Construction.

McClurg was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Joe, Denny of Enid and Mike of Waukomis; a daughter, Melanie Garrett of Hennessy; his mother, Susie of Enid; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart Division.
