Waukomis Cemetery


Garber – Funeral service for William O. Matteson, 72, will be at 10 AM Monday in the Garber Christian Church. The Rev. James Altfilish will officiate and burial will be in the Waukomis Cemetery.

Anderson Funeral Home of Garber is in charge of arrangements.

Matteson was born November 28, 1904, near Breckinridge. As a small child he moved with his parents to Garber. In 1942 he enlisted in the U. S. Air Corps and served in the England area. He was discharged in 1944 after being wounded, then returned to Garber. He died Friday night in an Enid hospital.

On October 25, 1946, he married Geraldine McIntyre. They spent their entire married life in Garber.

He is survived by his wife Geraldine; two sisters, Mrs. Faye Cramer, Garber, and Mrs. Mae Cramer, Muend Valley, Kansas; a brother Andy Matteson, Garber.
