This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Funeral services for Joe Litschke, 83, Waukomis, will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10:00 am in Your Family Church with Pastor Rick Dominic officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Waukomis Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the United States Coast Guard. Services are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors.

Joe was born on May 12, 1932 in Enid, the son of A. Herman and Opal A. Blocker Litschke, and passed away peacefully on April 24, 2016 in Enid. He lived a blessed life. He was raised in Enid and Waukomis (Valley Grade School in Waukomis), graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1949. Joe farmed and worked on a ranch in Colorado. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1952 to 1956. Joe married Mary B. Johnson in Enid in 1953. They farmed, were Herford Breeders, and, Joe was the secretary of the Waukomis CO-OP for 17 years.

Joe was a member of Your Family Church, American Legion Argonne Post #4; DAV; Past member of Enid Senior Ambucs.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of the residence; daughters, Pamela Jean Litschke of Bethany, Oklahoma, Cindy Mendel of Covington, Oklahoma; son, John Martin Litschke of Elkin, North Carolina; five grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in passing by his parents, two sisters, three uncles, and a great-grandson, William McKinney.

The family has selected, Your Family Church as appropriate for memorial donations with the Stittsworth’s coordinating.
