Mrs. Bess Kundert, 80, 1701 S. Fourth, died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital after a short illness. Her funeral service will be at 2 PM today in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Larry E. Parks, associate pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Waukomis Cemetery.

Mrs. Kundert was born August 30, 1893, in Urich, Missouri, and moved with her parents to a home east of Waukomis when she was two years old. She attended school at the Hackberry school, southeast of Waukomis, and was married to Fred Kundert in 1916 at Waukomis.

They lived on a farm 4 miles east of Waukomis. He died October 3, 1953, and six years later, Mrs. Kundert moved to Enid where she was a Stanley dealer until ill health forced her to retire. She was a member of the Christian Union Church at Douglas.

Mrs. Kundert is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rex (Ella Mae) George, Oklahoma City and Mrs. Dorothy Hardesty, Enid; nine grandchildren; seven great – grandchildren,; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hays, Enid and Mrs. Rilla Powell, Colorado Springs, Colorado; a brother, Floyd Clark of Waukomis. Two infant daughters predeceased her.
