Waukomis Cemetery


H. G. "Hank" Henneke, 88, Goltry, died Tuesday afternoon in a local hospital.

Funeral service will be at 2 PM in the Henninger – Allen Chapel with burial in the Waukomis Cemetery under direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

The family has suggested that those who wish may contribute to the charity of their choice with the funeral home as custodian of the funds.

Henneke was born July 20, 1892, in Mount Olive, Illinois, and moved with his parents to Oklahoma soon after the opening of the Cherokee Strip. He farmed in the Drummond community until his retirement at which time they moved to Goltry. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Enid.

Survivors include his wife, Marie; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (DeLois) Symons, Smithfield, North Carolina, and Mrs. Ernest (Twilla) Dirks, Stillwater; two sons, Norman of Alva and Avel of Drummond; three sisters, Mrs. Amanda Hazelwood, Mrs. Ralph (Sena) Hollrah and Lydia Henneke, all of Enid; and one brother, George Henneke of Enid.

Henneke is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great – grandchildren.
