Waukomis Cemetery



Mrs. Mary Hays, 1301 W. Oak, died late Friday night in an Enid hospital after a short illness.

Born in Waukomis, she went to high school there.

The former Mary Clark, she married John Clifford Hays in 1932 and they made their first home in North Enid. In 1933, they moved into Enid, where he ran Enid News and Stationary Company and later Hays Sales Company. He died in September 1965. Mrs. Hays has continued living here.

A member of First Baptist Church and the Philo Sunday school class, she was a lifetime member of Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital Auxiliary and of AARP, RSVP and the Garfield County Senior Citizens Center.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ed (Mary Beth) Greven and grandson, John Greven, both of Enid.

The funeral was at 2 PM today in the Henninger – Allen Chapel, with Dr. T. Hollis Epton and the Rev. Vernon Pendleton officiating. Burial was in the Waukomis Cemetery under the direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

Those who wish may contribute to the hospital auxiliary. The funeral home will serve as custodian.
