Waukomis Cemetery


The funeral service for Ida A. Hane, 95, of Waukomis, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Salem United Methodist Church, Drummond. Rev. Stan Warfield and Rev. Carl Sterling will officiate. Burial will be in Waukomis Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Mrs. Hane was born March 6, 1914, on a farm near Billings, Okla., to Harry and Tillie (Stechman) Weber and died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at United Methodist Nursing Center, Enid.

She attended Liberty country school, Waukomis High School and graduated from Drummond High School in 1933. She married Earl D. Hane April 27, 1935, in Enid. They made their home on the Hane family homestead, southwest of Waukomis for 53 years, moving to Waukomis in 1984. Mr. Hane died in 1992.

Mrs. Hane was an active member and past president of Salem United Methodist Women. She took great pride in her quilting and sewing. She was a charter member of Liberty Home Demonstration Club and Star Circle Club. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church for 88 years and a Sunday school teacher for many years.

She is survived by one son, Ivol and wife Jeanette of Stillwater; one daughter, Pat and husband Alan Milacek of Waukomis; one sister, Amanda Fields of Enid; six granddaughters, Ginger Ferguson, Kansas City, Mo., Christine Kokojan and husband Greg of Drummond, Dixie Heddlesten and Richard Crider of Stillwater, Diane Pool and husband Trevor of Waukomis, Leslie Stander and husband Jeff of Longwood, Fla., and Wendy Nave and husband Eric of Kingsville, Texas; two grandsons, Chad Hane and wife Mary of Stillwater and Shad Hane and wife Melinda of Stillwater; six great-granddaughters and 10 great-grandsons.
