July 6, 1922 - June 20, 2021

Funeral services for Irene Gabriel, 98, will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with Pastor Jimmy Berkenbile officiating. Burial will follow in Waukomis Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Irene was born July 6, 1922, in Garber to Truman and Olga Johnston and passed away June 20, 2021, in Hennessey. She graduated from Waukomis High School.

Irene is survived by her children, Sammy Gabriel (Cindy) of Spartanburg, S.C., Sandra Sue Simunek (David) of Marshall, Kay Meek (Michael) of Hennessey and Rita McGuire (Steve) of Lenexa, KS; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Johnston of Denver, CO; and brother-in-law, Ernest Gabriel and his wife Clemy.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; and sister, Edna Landwehr.
