Waukomis Cemetery


Services for Merle E. "Tubby" Edwards, 81, 560 N. 11th, who died Tuesday in a local hospital, will be at 2 PM Friday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Allen C. Sanders will officiate at the rites and burial will be in the Waukomis Cemetery.

Edwards was born March 19, 1902, in Powell, Nebraska, the son of Charles and Mary Edwards. He came with his family to Oklahoma as a small child.

He and Clara Setchell were married at Waukomis. They farmed in the Douglas area until moving to Enid in 1943. Edwards retired as an employee of the state of Oklahoma in 1968.

He was a member of the Davis Park Christian Church and the U&I Sunday School Class.

Edwards is survived by his wife Clara of the home. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister, Lester, Clifford, Lennie and Florence.

Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart Division, with the funeral home as custodian of the fund.
