The funeral for Gary Earl Cushman will be 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Chaplain Gary Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Waukomis Cemetery. A visitation with family will be 6 this evening in the Henninger-Hinson Banquet Hall.

Gary was born May 11, 1940, to Cloyd and Leta Cushman in Pawnee, Okla., and passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, in Greenbrier Nursing Home.

Gary was a truck driver and mechanic for most of his life. But his passion was making music. He played and sang in several bands around Oklahoma and Kansas. He also enjoyed going to the walleye Rodeo with his family.

On Dec. 21, 1964, he met and married Beverly Canaan in Alva, Okla., and to that union they had three children, Danny, Steven and Nichole.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Cloyd and Leta, and brother, Melvin Cushman.

Gary is survived by his wife, Beverly; two sons, Danny and Steven Cushman and wife Becky; and one daughter Nichole Lopez; six grandchildren, Gabi and Justin Venard, Austin, Nathan, Jeremy, Kaitlyn and Jaleesia Cushman; great-granddaughter Jazzey Saltsman. Also surviving are sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. The casket will be closed during services.
