ENID — The memorial service for Carolyn Christy, 63-year-old Enid resident, will be Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at 2 p.m. in Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Thurman Sparks will officiate. Private burial of cremains will follow in Waukomis Cemetery.

Carolyn was born June 30, 1947, in Seiling, Oklahoma, to William “Bill” and Ella Kathlyn (Nichels) Rhodes and died Thursday, April 28, 2011

She attended local schools in Seiling. On March 11, 1980, she married John Christy in Ponca City, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Enid. In addition to being a homemaker, Carolyn also worked at Advance Food for over a decade. She was a longtime member of Victory Bible Church. She liked to garden, go to garage sales, made the best fried chicken, but mostly loved spending time with her family. She loved everyone and was loved by everyone in return.

She is survived by her husband, John, of the home; four daughters, Tammy and husband, Robert Christmas; Kristine and husband, David McMahan; Misty and husband, Dustin Best; Jennifer and husband, David McCarson, all of Enid; eight grandchildren; one brother, Harvey Rhodes, of the home; four sisters, Mary Dodd, of Waukomis, and Lola Craven, Betty Elder, and JoAnn Baldwin, all of Enid. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
