Waukomis Cemetery


ENID — Graveside service for William W. Cox Jr., 73, of Waukomis , will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, in Waukomis Cemetery with Pastor David Jones officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

William was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Anthony, Kan., to William H. and Dorothy Walker Cox Sr. and died Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

William moved with his family to Enid and graduated from Enid High School. He joined the United States Army and served four years.

He worked various jobs over the years including Vo-Tech, Sexton of Waukomis Cemetery and volunteered for Waukomis Fire Department.

He married Marie Hromas Dec. 18, 1971.

He is survived by his wife, Marie of the home; son, Randy Fluman of Kingsville, Texas; daughters, Tina McLerran of Norman and Melissa Callaway of Enid; granddaughter, Maggie; sisters, Billie Roades of Waukomis , Dorothy Lee Riggle of El Dorado, Kan., Coleen Thomason of Derby, Kan., and Kathi Long of Enid; brothers, Dennis Cox of Redding, Calif., Darrell Cox of Wellington, Kan., and Greg Cox of Enid; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Memorials may be made in his memory to Waukomis Cemetery Association or Waukomis Fire Department.
