A Celebration of Life for Patsy L. Cowgill, 76, Nescatunga, (near Salt Plains Lake), is 2 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Vernon Lee will officiate, with burial following in Waukomis Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Patsy was born August 29, 1940, in Erwin, N.C., to Robert Lee Long and Ruby Margaret (King) Long and passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017, in Enid. She married J.W. Cowgill on August 23, 1988, in Sumter, S. C. They moved to Waukomis, where they made their home for 15 years, before returning to North Carolina so Patsy could care for her ailing mother. After her mother passed away, Patsy and J.W. returned to Nescatunga, where they made their permanent home. She loved to go camping and fishing at the Salt Plains Lake and Ft. Fisher in North Carolina. She and J.W. loved to go dancing, spend time with their friends and family, and her beloved cocker spaniel Tucker.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruby Long; and a brother, Bobby Long.

She is survived by her husband, J.W. Cowgill, of the home in Nescatunga; daughter, Susie Baker, of Stillwater; brother, John Long, of Fayetteville, N.C.; a nephew, Johnny Long, Jr., of Hope Mills, N.C.; and her cocker spaniel, Tucker.

Memorials in Patsy's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
