March 9, 1931 - September 13, 2019

After months of waiting and anticipation, Willo Lou (Lovell) Clark finally received the invitation to attend her heavenly homecoming celebration on September 13, 2019. She rushed to attend, because keeping the King waiting wasn't an option. While she will be deeply missed here, the chance to sing for Him is what she had been rehearsing for her entire life.

Willo Lou Lovell was born March 9, 1931, in Enid, OK, to Rev. Neal and Nellie Mae Lovell.

She was a proud graduate, Class of 1952, of Phillips University, Enid, OK, with a major in Christian Education and Music. She married Rev. Jerry McHarg in 1953 and moved soon after to Southern California. They had three children: Jeffrey, Kevin and Shannon. She taught disadvantaged students in California for several years.

She later married John W. Clark in 1979.

She remained active with Phillips University Alumni and served as their President for several years. During this time, she also rediscovered her love of writing poetry and music, and continued to compose both for the rest of her life.

She had been a member of Covenant Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Cary, NC for the past 5 years. Prior to that, she was a long-time member of Central Christian Church (DoC) in Enid, OK.

She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Jerry McHarg, and second husband John Clark.

She is survived by her children: Jeffrey (Elaine Dors) McHarg of Acton, MA; Kevin (Karen) McHarg, of Apex, NC; Shannon (Kevin) Arensman of Boise, ID; grandchildren: Tenley (Kevin) Dame, Rory McHarg, Nate McHarg, and Ian McHarg; and beloved cousin Melvin Newland, among other distant relatives.

Celebration of Life services will be held on October 18, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Covenant Christian Church (DoC) in Cary, NC; and on November 1, 2019 at 11:00 am at Central Christian Church (DoC) in Enid, OK. Internment will be at Waukomis Cemetery, Waukomis, OK.

Keep the music going, Mom, the rest of us will join soon, although we may be fashionably late!
