Waukomis Cemetery


The graveside service for Brenda Carol Boutwell, 59, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, in Waukomis Cemetery. Pastor Kevin Ward will officiate. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born March 4, 1950, in Richmond, Ky., to Roy and Bertie Clarek Cates and died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at her home.

She was raised in Richmond, where she worked at a glass pane window factory.

She married Merle Boutwell Aug. 30, 1996, in Berea, Ky. They moved to Enid in 2005, where she was affiliated with Central Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are her husband, Merle, of the home; one daughter, Bertie Johnson of Waukomis; three brothers, Michael Cates of Arizona, Roy Glenn Cates of Richmond and Jackie Cates of Lebanon, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love.
