A Celebration of Life for Douglas Lee Becker, age 68, of Waukomis, is 2 PM, Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Father John Toles officiating. Burial will follow at Waukomis Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Douglas Lee Becker was born November 27, 1949 in Enid to Wanda (Sheets) Becker and Arthur Becker, and passed away on February 25, 2018. Doug attended Emerson Jr. High and was active in Boy Scouts, band, track, and various clubs. He graduated from Enid High School in 1968. He married his high school sweetheart Ginger (Goodwin) Engler on Nov. 2, 1968 and they had two children, Tammy (Becker) Neal, and Jeremy Becker. He made his home in Waukomis. Doug enjoyed attending drag races at the Ringwood Drag Strip and at race tracks around the region. He also loved the Enid Speedway races. He was an avid OU football fan. He loved hunting and fishing with his family as well as gardening and raising purple martins. He had a great sense of humor and was always saying or doing something to make those around him laugh.

Doug was a skilled auto mechanic and loved to work on cars. He owned several American muscle cars during his lifetime. His first job out of high school was at Gold Spot Dairy and later he worked as a proficient auto parts salesman at various auto parts stores and car dealerships in Enid. In his later years he devoted his life to the Lord, spending many hours a day reading his Bible, devotionals, and praying.

Doug is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy (Becker) Neal and James Neal, of Enid, and his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara (Becker) Coppedge and Daryl Coppedge, of Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by his son Jeremy Becker and both of his parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doug's name to In-Touch Ministries with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds. Your contribution may give others an opportunity to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
