Violet Fern BARTON

Waukomis Cemetery


WAUKOMIS - The graveside service for Violet Fern Barton, 72, of Waukomis , Okla., will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, in Waukomis Cemetery , Waukomis , Okla. Rev. Dave Jones will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Violet was born Sept. 14, 1937, in Morse, Okla., to John and Beulah (Adams) Whitson and died Sunday, March 21, 2010, in Enid, Okla.

She was a hairdresser for over 20 years and owned her own shop in Waukomis .

She was a member of American Legion and Moose Lodge. She was an avid bingo player, loved fishing and took great pride in taking care of her yard and her flowers. Violet's home was warm and always welcoming to her family and many friends.

She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Barton Jr. and wife Sandra of Waukomis , Okla., Howard Barton of Guymon, Okla., and Dwayne Brock Jr. of Enid, Okla.; four grandchildren, Jason Barton and wife Jenny, Megan Barton, Desiree Tennyson and husband Shawn and Destiny Brock; seven great-grandchildren, Kylynn, Hannah, Brison, Nathan, Gage, Jayston and Mattie; two brothers, Allen Whitson and A.J. Whitson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Brian Barton; sisters, Mary Hogshooter, Edith "Ted" Hewitt, Flora Jordan and Zettia Hunter; brothers, Glen Whitson, Marvin Whitson, Gilbert Davis and Bill Whitson.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Found-ation (www.pulmonaryfibro sis.org ).
