Waukomis Cemetery


The funeral for George D. "Andy" Anderson, 57, who died Tuesday at his home in Waukomis after a lengthy illness, will be at 2 PM Thursday at Waukomis United Methodist Church. The Rev. Danny Marney, minister of Waukomis Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial with rites by American Legion Argonne Post 4 of Enid will be in Waukomis Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home.

The casket will be open at the funeral home until service time and will remain closed at the church.

Anderson was born March 29, 1930, in El Reno and moved with his parents to Waukomis where he attended school in the Pioneer area. He later served in the U. S. Navy and transferred to the U. S. Army, serving in the Korean conflict. On August 10, 1963, he married Kathleen Flake.

Anderson retired from military service as a sergeant in 1965 and entered several business enterprises including farming. In 1973, he was disabled and retired. The family moved to Waukomis in 1980 from Waco, Texas.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, James Anderson of Joele, Utah, and Joe Bradford of Waukomis; four daughters, Georgia Jeannie McAfee of Grantsville, Utah, Mary Conditt of Shawnee, Vonciel Keister of El Paso, Texas, and Sandra Hubert of Austin, Texas; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George G. Anderson of Waukomis; 25 grandchildren; and eight great – grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and a son.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
