Waukomis Cemetery


Mrs. Susan B. Allen, 100 – year – old former resident of Fairview, died Tuesday in the Masonic Home at Guthrie.

Funeral services for Mrs. Allen will be at 2 PM Friday in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. T. Hollis Epton officiating. Burial will be in the Waukomis Cemetery. The casket will be open until service time and will remain closed afterward.

She was born and grew up near Henderson, Kentucky. The former Susan B. Watham, she married James B. Allen in 1899.

Two years later, the Allen's moved to Oklahoma, settling at McCloud. They moved to Seminole in 1917, where they operated the Craddock and Allen Store. In 1941, they moved to Fairview where they were living at the time of his death March 14, 1958.

Mrs. Allen returned to Seminole for a short time, then moved to Lovington, New Mexico, where she lived until moving to Guthrie in 1976.

Mrs. Allen was a member of the Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by a son, James B. Allen Jr. of Lovington.
