Mrs. W.L.G. Grimes
Mrs. W. L. G. Grimes died suddenly Monday afternoon. Although Mrs. Grimes had been in poor health for some time her death was entirely unexpected and came as a great shock not only to the family but to the entire community.
Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday and were conducted by Rev. Swartz who preached an eloquent and impressive sermon. The interment was in Sunny Side cemetery. A throng was present to pay tribute to the memory and honor of the deceased.
All the children were present at the funeral, Mrs. Mary Hall coming from Camden, Mo., and Mrs. A.T. Adams from Bartlesville, Okla. The other children, Mrs. Robert Cottar, Miss Lena, Steve and Loyd reside here. Other relatives present were Mrs. McColl, mother of deceased, her brothers James, William and Gus McColl and the latter's wife.
Mrs. Grimes had long been a resident here, for she and her husband came to Oklahoma at the opening and took the land where they have ever since resided. During all the hardships and privation of the early settlers life she toiled and was unsparing in her efforts to enable her family to obtain more of the better things in life. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend and although she has passed away those who have been fortunate in knowing her will not cease to pay tribute to her memory.
