Sunnyside Cemetery


LAHOMA, OK - Funeral service for Rosella Faye Brakhage, 70, of Lahoma, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, with Pastor Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Lahoma, Okla., under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Rosella was born Dec. 22, 1942, in Fairview, Okla., to George and Anna Nightengale Wahl. God whispered her name, and she went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, Sept. 11, 2013.

She lived in the Lahoma Community, where she attended and graduated from Lahoma High School.

Rosella married Gerald Brakhage July 28, 1962, in Meno, Okla. She helped Gerald with the family farming and dairy business.

Rosella was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and the So Journers Sunday school class.

Rosella was a loving wife, wonderful mother, awesome grandma and a great cook. She was known to put everyone?s needs before her own. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald of the home; three daughters, Julie Schomber and husband David of Ringwood, Kristy Morton and husband Lonnie of Lahoma, and Kasey Griffin and husband Pat of Enid; daughter-in-law, Dana Brakhage of Lahoma; grandchildren, Natasha, Bub, Zach, Trevor, Connor, Chesney, Kiersten, Brok, Bayli, Megan and Bree; two great-grandchildren, Haylee and Stem; two sisters, Janie Cravens of Fairview, and Clara Ratzlaff of Angel Fire, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.

Rosella was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gentry; and two sisters, Anna Marie and Erma.
