March 15, 1932 - November 21, 2020

The celebration of life for Retired Mst. Sargent Thomas (Tommy) Rauschenberg Sr. 88 of Carrier Oklahoma will be November 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Your Family Church Enid, Oklahoma Service will be officiated by Johnie Rauschenberg and David Bingham. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Carrier, Oklahoma. Under the direction of Amy Stittsworth funeral service.

Tommy was born March 15th, 1932 in Waco Texas to Jack and Edna Mae Rauschenberg and died November 21st, 2020 at home with his family. Tommy was raised in Gatesville Texas on a farm south of Gatesville which is now part of North Fort Hood (Army Base) in Texas. Tommy Graduated from Gatesville High School in 1953.

Drafted into the US Army soon after graduation. He served his country for more than 20 years, A combat veteran of the Vietnam war. Tommy was deployed to several different countries and served his country proud. Tommy retired as a Senior non commission officer in 1975. During his time in the military he married Peggy Godforth, they had three wonderful children two daughters Johnnie Mae, Diana Coleen, and one son Thomas Rauschenberg Jr (Tommy). They were married until 1974. After retirement Tommy married Lynda Fine in 1976, she had two children James Marquardt, and Kimberly Gibbon. In this union they had one son Johnie Rauschenberg. Tommy and Lynda divorced years later but remained friends.

Tommy was service manager of several new car dealerships in the surrounding area. Tommy enjoyed working with his father in law Hershel Fine at his business referred to Fine Remodeling which is now Fine Roofing and Remodeling. Tommy enjoyed stock car racing with his son Johnie and grandkids for many years, also fishing, boating, hunting, and gardening. Tommy had a love for animals.

Tommy was an ordained Southern Baptist deacon and a member of Your Family Church. He was a member of Gideon International Ministries and a past member of the Civitan Club. Tommy was a good family man, a good provider, he loved his children and grandchildren with a passion, and he loved his Lord and Savior, Tommy loved his country. He had a charitable heart with his acts of generosity made everlasting marks on those around him. A modest man somewhat quite with a good sense of humor.

Tommy is survived by one son Johnie E. Rauschenberg and Wife Paula Rauschenberg and granddaughter Makayla Rauschenberg, Dylan Whitley, and Matt Harvey of the home. Also, children he raised James Marquardt, Kimberly Gibbon (Ricky), Brenda Freeman. And grandchildren Nikkolas Sands, Jayden Sands, Kymber Sands, Kenley Marquardt, Kambron Marquardt. Three great grandchildren Hadleigh Sands, Jasmine Lott, and Sabastian Higgins, and several other children that referred to him as Papa Tommy.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Edna Mae Rauschenberg, his grandparents John and Mattie Price. And two daughters Johnnie Mae Rauschenberg, Diana Higgins, and one son Thomas E Rauschenberg Jr., one grand daughter Kristen Higgins, and one great grandson Aaron Higgins.
