Paradise Cemetery


Funeral service for Laura Ellen Campbell, 73, of Breckinridge, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery, Breckinridge, OK, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born June 21, 1935, in Blackwell, OK, to George and Leona Mae Freeman Kerby and died Saturday, June 13, 2009, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

She was raised in the Deer Creek Community, where she attended school.

Laura married James E. Campbell Oct. 25, 1957, in Deer Creek, OK. She was a bookkeeper and homemaker. She served on the Garber school board, was an honorary state farmer, a member of the Breckinridge Stars Extension Club and was a coordinator for Make It Yourself with Wool. She loved cats and enjoyed working with 4-H and FFA groups. She was very proud of her sewing awards she received at the county fairs. She was an avid OSU fan.

She is survived by her husband, James, of the home; daughter, Barbara Rice and her husband, Douglas of Maysville, OK; three sons, Alan Campbell and his wife Terri of Wellington, KS, Jack Campbell and his wife Kim of Bixby, OK, and Steven Campbell and his wife Susan of Leawood, KS; one sister, Georgia Ann Laman and her husband, Bill, of Oklahoma City, OK; and eight grandchildren.
