Paradise Cemetery


ENID — The funeral for Charlotte Batson, 93, will be 10 a.m. today, Sept. 10, 2010, at Evangel Assembly of God Church with Pastor Lester Lowry officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery, Breckenridge, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Charlotte was born to Gile Richard and Xepha Foret (Harlan) Rhoden on Dec. 12, 1916, in Wakeeney, Kan., and died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, in Enid.

She lived in Wakeeney until 1936 and earned a degree in music and education from Emporia State Teachers College. Charlotte was in marching bands in high school and college.

In 1939, she married William Dreasher in Emporia, Kan. She taught music in public school and was a private piano teacher. She was church pianist for many churches, an ordained minister and sold Avon for several years.

On Feb. 27, 1967, she married William Franklin Batson in Miami. They moved to Enid in 1979. She was a member of Evangel Assembly of God Church.

Charlotte is survived by daughter, Karen (Don) Minard of Ellsworth, Kan.; son, Daryl Dreasher of Forsyth, Mo.; grandson, Chris Lee Dreasher who she raised; seven other grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Joan Schneider of Topeka, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, on Aug. 16, 2010, and two brothers, Clyde and Tom Rhoden.

Memorials may be made to Evangel Assembly of God Music Department.
