Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Virginia Lee Wuerflein, 92, of Enid, Okla., formerly of Kremlin, Okla., will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan., 10, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Pastors Scott Whittenburg and Kenneth Wade officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Lee was born April 10, 1922, in the Kremlin area, the daughter of Walter and Lucille Malter Hardy and passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2015.

She attended school in the Kremlin area and graduated from Kremlin High School.

She was united in marriage to John A. Wuerflein Sept. 5, 1943, in Enid, while he was on leave from the United States Army during WWII.

She was employed by Kremlin Telephone Switchboard and Zaloudek’s General Store.

Upon John’s return from the war, they were partners in farming and cattle ventures. John preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 1992.

She was a member of Kremlin Home Culture Club and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She volunteered at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Oklahoma Blood Institute.

Survivors include two daughters, Helen McDonald and husband Ron of Geronimo, Okla., and Shirley Sanders and husband Roy of North Enid; three grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Tefft of Enid; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one grandson and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

The family would like to express their thanks to Greenbrier Assisted Living and Nursing Home for the friendship and loving care given to Lee.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Kremlin Fire Department, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
