Earl Theodore Woodbury
March 4, 1924 ~ October 26, 2009

The funeral service for Earl Theodore Woodbury, age 85, will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Ron Olson and Pastor Grady Bohannon officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Earl was born to Russell and Jessie Barbara [Fleer] Woodbury on March 4, 1924, in the Drummond Flats, Garfield County, and went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, in Enid.

Earl grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School. He served in the US Air Force for two years in England. On Aug. 23, 1947, he married Marie Jamison in Enid, where they made their home. Earl was a master carpenter working at Vance AFB in the carpenter shop where he retired after twenty-six years.

Earl was a member of Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church and served the Lord faithfully. He enjoyed men's coffee club, attending estate and yard sales, hunting and fishing, gardening, and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed sitting on the porch swing and reading his Bible. Earl loved spending time with his family and loved family get-togethers, especially enjoying his two new great-granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife Marie, married 62 loving years; two daughters, Linda Fillwock and husband Dennis of Albuquerque, NM, and Jane Grooms and husband Terry of Stillwater; five grandchildren, Amy Popham and husband James of Enid, Kelly Merrill and wife Kristin of Perkins, Andrew Merrill of St. Louis, MO, Chris Fillwock of Springfield, VA, and Beth Fillwock of San Leandro, CA; two great-grandchildren, Marossie Popham and Kambry Merrill.

Our beloved husband, daddy and granddad will be always in our hearts. We'll miss you.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister.

Marie Ella [Jamison] Woodbury
December 31, 1925 ~ May 27, 2024

Marie Woodbury was welcomed Home and into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 27, 2024.

Marie was born in Carmen, OK, on December 31, 1925, to Ernie and Stella Jamison. She graduated from Enid High School, Class of 1944. In 1946, Marie met and fell in love with a handsome young soldier, Earl Woodbury. Earl's cousin Leota introduced them through the church. Their first date was going to a basketball game that neither of them were really interested in, but it was a great way to spend some time together.

Earl and Marie married August 23, 1947. They were blessed with two daughters, Linda and Jane. They raised their family in The Wesleyan Methodist Church.

In her early married years, Marie wrote for the social column and obituaries for the Enid Publishing Co. Marie later became a dedicated homemaker and accomplished seamstress. Marie considered it an honor to work for the election board for many years.

Earl and Marie were married 61 years before Earl's passing in 2009. Marie has been reunited in Heaven with her husband, Earl; beloved mother whom she lost far too young; her father; an infant half-brother; as well as numerous, cherished friends.
