ENID, OK — Funeral service for Ophelia Jane (Venable) Winkle, 91, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Central Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation with the family is 6-7:30 p.m. today, April 4, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Ophelia was born to Julius and Mary (Hiltibidal) Venable on July 23, 1922, in Bilby, Okla., and passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in Enid.

Ophelia grew up in Bilby, Okla.

On Oct. 23, 1937, she married Archie James Winkle in McAlester. She was a pastor’s wife for 46 years.

After moving to Enid, she was a member of Central Assembly of God Church, where she participated in Star Widows Club, Seniors Group. She was a Sectional Women’s Ministry Director in South Texas, a member of Elite Pastors Wives in Oklahoma District of the Assemblies of God, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.

Ophelia regularly attended church service and especially enjoyed The Gaither’s music. She enjoyed her family and was a wonderful precious Mom to all children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Winkle and wife Carolyn of Pauls Valley, and Jerry Winkle and wife Betty of Norman; daughter, Jean Woods of Enid; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Winkle of Port Neches; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Ophelia was preceded in death by her husband, Archie; son, Ralph Winkle; her parents; five brothers; one sister; son-in-law, Bill Woods; and daughter-in-law, Sue Winkle.

Memorials may be made to Central Assembly Family Life Center.
