A Celebration of Life for Veta Pauline (Ross) Wilson is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Kwan Young Kim officiating. Inurnment of the ashes of Veta and Louis Wilson will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Veta Pauline Ross Wilson, 92, went to her eternal rest on February 24, 2018, in San Antonio, Texas. Veta Pauline Ross was born on August 5, 1925, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, to Murdo and Pauline Davis Ross. They had gone to Canada to help family harvest wheat. She attended Enid Schools. She played accordion and is in a picture of the Chenoweth and Green accordion band with her sister, cousin and future sister-in-law at the Enid Event Center. She married Louis O'Neal Wilson on February 8, 1943, at the Garfield County Courthouse. He went overseas and she went to work in the motor pool at Vance Air Force Base. She transported troops and drove a colonel to evaluate restaurants.

After World War II, they made their home in Enid. They had four sons: Stephen M. Wilson, Donald O. Wilson, Richard E. Wilson and David R. Wilson. Veta invested her life in the care of her family. She was the ultimate hostess and loved cooking, baking, crafting, sewing, quilting, knitting, tole/oil painting and refinishing furniture. She was a member of Bethany UMC, the Gamma Study Club, extension homemaker club and a bridge club. She and Louis enjoyed supporting family, owning a business, square dancing, traveling, and being active members of Bethany UMC.

Veta is survived by her sons and spouses, Stephen and Marilyn Wilson of Enid, Donald and Debbie Wilson of San Antonio, TX, Richard and LaDonna Wilson of Coweta; and David and Tammy Wilson of Adolphus, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; caregiver, Donna Gonzalez and dear friend, Doris Eifert.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 74 ½ years, her parents, sister, Jean Doerschlag, sister-in-law, LaVeta Wilson, and brothers-in-law, Leonard Schenck, Walt Doerschlag, James Wilson, and Leroy Roever; and special friends, Margie Kiely and Leila Cumpston.

Memorials in Veta's name may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Condolences may be made and services viewed online at www.LadusauEvans.com.
