Doris Irene "Dodo" [Davidson] Willson
November 15, 1935 ~ March 31, 2018


The funeral service for Doris Irene Willson is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gary Miller officiating. Burial follows in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Doris was born November 15, 1935, to Arthur and Rena (Dallas) Davidson in Covington, and passed away March 31, 2018, in Enid.

Doris was raised in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1953. She then attended Phillips University and Enid Beauty College.

On October 3, 1953, she married Robert Eugene Peters in Enid and two children came of this union. Doris met, and then later married Gilbert L. Willson on April 9, 1970, in New Mexico. Then moved to Enid where the couple made their home, and enhanced their family with another child.

Doris enjoyed rock and roll music, romance novels and watching the OKC Thunder. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Doris is survived by husband, Gilbert Sr.; sons, Dale and Sylvia (Starnes) Peters of TX; Danny and Darla (Brainerd) Peters of Enid; Gilbert Jr. and Jennifer (Mattson) Willson, Perry; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one on the way. Numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lorraine Irvin and Fonda Sorey; brother, Harley Davidson, and one grandson, Bradley Peters.

Gilbert Lee Willson
July 30, 1938 ~ November 10, 2023


The funeral service for Gilbert Lee Willson, 85 year-old Enid resident is 11:00AM Wednesday, November 15, 2023 in the Henninger-Hinson Chapel. Chaplain Gary Miller will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Gilbert was born July 30, 1938 in Sacramento, California to Joy and Ruth (Brogdon) Willson and died Friday, November 10, 2023 in Golden Oaks Nursing Home. On April 9, 1970 he married Doris Peters in New Mexico and the couple made their home in Enid. Gilbert worked as an oil driller for Sooner Completion for a time before his career as a auto mechanic. He worked Fidelty Motors, and Jantzen's for many years, He later worked at Halsey-Long Ford in Garber for close to twenty years before he retired. After he retired he worked at OnCue for 12 years as a car wash attendant.

Gilbert enjoyed riding his motorcycle, watching science-fiction movies, but mostly spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son Gilbert Willson Jr and wife Jennifer [Mattson] of Perry, 3 grandchildren; Destiny, Gilbert III, and Nayomie. 3 great-grandchildren; Zoey, Anastasia, and Ivy, and one on the way....also surviving is daughter-in-law Darla Peters of Enid.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris, his son Danny Peters, and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Russell LeRoy Willson
December 22, 1961 ~ August 24, 2021


Graveside services for Russell LeRoy Willson, 59, Enid resident, will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Ronald Lee Willson, II. officiating, under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Russell was born on December 22, 1961 in Enid, the son of Ronald Lee Willson and Berneta Mae Tolle Willson, and passed away suddenly on August 24, 2021 in Enid.

He was raised in Enid, working as a truck driver, hauling mud. Russell married Marilyn Marie Hobbs in Enid, OK on August 8, 1987. They raised four children together. Russell enjoyed motorcycle riding and fishing. He greatly enjoyed family time and spending time with his grandchildren.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Berneta and Ernest Edwards, and Ronald and Sue Willson. Three sisters; Bonnie Owens, Debbie Hubert, and Karen Webster; nephews, Phillip Sharp and Ronald Heath Willson.

He is survived by his wife Marie of 34 years; son, Nick Hobbs, daughters, Nichoal Hobbs and fiance Sam Edwards, and Crystal (Timmy) Ashenfelter; son, Russell (Theresa) Willson, II; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Rick (Kathy) Willson, and Ronald (Guyla) Willson; sisters, Cindy Rogers, Janet Wells, and Melody Willson Cauthon; numerous nieces and nephews and beloved pets, Blue, Sophie, Molly and Brandy.

Russell was greatly loved and will always be loved and missed by his family and friends. He will never be forgotten. One day we will meet again and ride off into the sunset.
