Willis, 87 year-old Enid resident will be at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2008 at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Hass officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. James was born on July 13, 1921 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma the son of Daniel Edward Willis and Virginia Ann (Morris) Willis and died October 23, 2008 at Greenbrier Nursing Home. As a young child they moved to Enid where he attended Enid public schools. On September 14, 1945 he married Kelsey Keisling in Massachusetts while serving in the United States Army. James started his career working for Frisco Railroad. After that he went to work for Union Equity Elevators where he worked for a number or years before retiring in the mid 1980’s. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church He is survived by his wife Kelsey of the home; three daughters, Peggy Dalrymple of Enid; Linda Willis of Norman; Judy Burton of Tulsa; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, B. Dunnvant of Dallas; and Velma Gilbert of Eugene, OR; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League with Henninger-Hinson acting as custodian of the fund. |

Willis, 88 year-old Enid resident will be Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 1:00PM in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The casket will be open until service time. Kelsey was born December 28, 1924 in Clinton, Massachusetts, to George Keisling and Lonora [Rivard] Keisling and died Monday, August 3, 2009 in Golden Oaks Nursing Home. She attended local schools and graduated from Clinton High School. On September 14, 1945 she married James E. Willis on an Army Base in Massachusetts. The couple made their home in Enid. She was a homemaker. She was member of St Paul Lutheran Church for over sixty years. She enjoyed oil painting and Bible study. She is survived by three daughters; Peggy Dalrymple and husband Larry of Enid, Linda Willis of Norman, OK, and Judy Burton of Tulsa, OK, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, one sister, Marilyn Dinkins of Florida, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, one sister and four brothers. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St Paul's Lutheran Church. Enid, Oklahoma May 2021 October 30, 1946 ~ May 20, 2021 Funeral services for Linda Kay Willis, 74, Enid resident, will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in the Memory Chapel with Pastor Eugene Burnham officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Linda Kay Willis, 74, was born at St Mary's Hospital in Enid, OK to Robert Fred Burnham and Lorena Mae Newman Burnham. She resided in Enid with her daughter and grandsons, She loved a full life surrounded with many families and friends. She enjoyed her backyard barbecues and swimming. She also grew up on the lake and river fishing and camping. It was a lifelong enjoyment. She also passed on that love to her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Fred Burnham Sr and Lorena Mae Burnham, son, Kelly Caywood, brother, Robert Fred Burnham Jr, and brother in law Hershel Strait. She is survived by her daughters Angela Thomas, Tammy Thomas, grandsons, Chase Smith [Shelby] Branan Glover and Talon Thomas, great-grandson, Knox, Brothers Gene Burnham Susie] and Mike Burnham [Mary], and sisters, Peggy Strait and LaJean Kirby [Kent], Many Nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to Angela Thomas. |
