ENID — Funeral services for Lila E. Willems, age 91, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Bruce Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery . Family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Lila was born February 7, 1920, to Nicholas and Elizabeth Schmidt in Beulah, KS. Her early years were spent on the farm in Inman, KS. She graduated from Inman High School. Lila was baptized at Fenamore Lake and became a member of the Hebron Mennonite Church in Beulah, KS. She was the eldest daughter of nine children: Victor Schmidt, Lila Willems, Elmer Schmidt, Helen Ediger, Elda Yoder, Irene Dunn, Velma Jean Whittle, Bob Schmidt and Rosemary Schmidt.

On February 11, 1940, she married Leonard Willems. Into this home four precious children were born whom she dearly loved. They moved to Junction City, KS, where they joined the Church of the Nazarene. Lila enjoyed being a homemaker during the years her children were home.

Lila was a woman of great faith. She was a member of Enid Church of the Nazarene. She loved her church and raised all four children in the Nazarene church. After the children were grown, she was employed by Ramada Inn in Kansas City, MO. In her retirement years, she substituted at the vo-tech in Enid. Lila had a God-given gift with children. Besides homemaking, she and Leonard enjoyed many trips and camping. Lila's true passion was camping.

At the age of 91, after a wonderful life, she went to be with our Lord on July 28, 2011. Lila is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; parents, Nicholas and Elizabeth Schmidt; brother, Victor Schmidt; brother, Elmer Schmidt; and infant sister, Rose. Also, two grandchildren, Jamie Michelle Willems and Jeremiah Willems, and one great-grandchild, Elizabeth Grace Huffman.

Lila is survived by her four children: Sandra and Curtis Dorris, Bethany, OK, James Willems, Hillsdale , OK, Randy and Brenda Willems, Plano, TX, Terry and Teres Willems, Breckenridge, OK; 17 grandchildren: Paul and Kim (Dorris) Huffman, OKC, OK, Derek and Tiffany Dorris, Bethany, OK, Burk of Stillwater, OK; Ben Willems of Enid, OK, K.K. Willems, Enid, OK, Chea Willems and Philip Coyle, Plano, TX; Chad, Autumn Willems of Plano, TX, Sarah Willems of Enid, OK, Tony Willems, Breckenridge, OK, David and Danielle Willems, and Michael Bell and Jeanne.

She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Laura Huffman, L.A.; Adam and Amy Huffman, TX; Grace, Meagan and Landon Huffman, OK; Molly and Ava Dorris, Bethany, OK, Login Coyle, Plano, TX; Brent and Shawn Bell, Enid and Madison Willems, Breckenridge.

Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene. Condolences may be sent to www.ladusauevansfh.com.
