Wight, age 77, of Enid, will be 10 am today in the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Mr Ron Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Archie was born July 4, 1921, near Hitchcock, OK, to Charlie and Lulu Bell Wight and passed awy August 28, 1998. He attended school in Ringwood, OK. On March 19, 1938, he married Beatrice Goertz. He married Margie O'Neal January 19, 1946, and she preceded him in death December 27, 1991. He was a jeweler and watch repairman for 43 years. Archie was a Model T enthusiast; and was founder of Oklahoma Special T's Club. On January 9, 1993, he married Carol [Poarch] Carter. He is survived by his wife Carol; three sons, Jim Wight and his wife Hazel of Garber, OK, Jerry Wight and his wife, Donna of Woodward, OK, Ray Wight and his wife Judy of Hutchinson, Minn; eight grandsons, five great grandchildren and a brother Harvey Wight and his wife Edna of Enid, step children Doug and his wife Jimmie Carter of Waukomis and Stan Carter of Salt Lake City, UT, and five step grandchildren |

Wight, 64, Enid, who died December 27, 1991, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Anderson- King Chapel, Minister Ronny Wheeler will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Wight died in Enid Regional Hospital after a long illness. She was born August 27, 1927, in Verden to Raleigh and Lena O'Neal. She was raised and went to school in Enid. On January 19, 1946, she married Archie Wight. She was a member of Garland Road Church of Christ. Surviving are her husband, Archie; three sons Jim of Garber, Jerry of Woodward and Raymond of Hutchinson, Minnesota; two sisters, Violet Douglas and Cleva Beelendorf both of Enid; four brothers Harvey and Ernest O'Neal, both of Enid, Robert O'Neal of LaHabra California and Cecil O'Neal of Columbus Ohio; and eight grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research, Cancer Division through the Anderson-King Funeral Home. |
© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma January 2022 October 24, 1933 ~ January 20, 2022 he funeral for Carol Ann Poarch Wight, 88 year-old Enid resident is Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Phillip Gregg officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Carol was born in Governor Seay's mansion in Kingfisher, Oklahoma on October 24, 1933 to parents Weldon Eugene and Hazel Cross Poarch and died Thursday, January 20, 2022 in Greenbrier Nursing Home. At the age of 5 the family moved to Watonga, Oklahoma. She began school at Cordell Country School where she attended until the third grade. At that time she transferred to the Watonga schools graduating in 1952. She married Ralph Carter in 1951. They lived in Watonga, California, and Enid. He passed away in 1990. She married Archie Wight in 1993. He passed away in 1998. She worked several years at St Mary's Hospital in data processing. Retiring in 1993. After Archie passed away she moved back to Watonga. She was an office employee at C and L Lumber. She was active in the Watonga Hospital Auxiliary until she moved to Greenbrier Nursing Home in 2019 due to health problems. She was preceded in death by her parents, both spouses, son Doug, grandson Joshua, brothers Valgean, Bob, Charlie, Kenneth, Jimmie and Weldon Eugene Jr., sisters Billie and Patricia. She is survived by a son Stanley of Enid. Grandson Austin, granddaughter Kassidy and 5 great-grandchildren. One brother, Gerald Poarch of Costa Mesa, California. Sisters, Wilba Koetter of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Eloise Epsy of Watonga, Jodene Carter of Covington, Oklahoma and Anita Reeder and husband Tom of Gravois Mills, Missouri, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Staff at Greenbrier Nursing Home for her loving care. Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to the Covington Baptist Church.
