March 13, 1952 - August 28, 1968

Funeral services for Roy V. "Butch" Whittenberg, 16, 411 E. Walnut, will be at 4 PM today in the Chapel of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home. Rev. Gordon Spencer will officiate and burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger – Allen.

Whittenberg was killed Wednesday afternoon, 28 August 1968, when the motorcycle he was riding struck a car at Main and Jackson.

Whittenberg was born in Pueblo, Colorado, and lived in Arnett for four years before moving to Enid in 1956. He attended Enid schools and would have been a junior at Enid high school this fall. An honor student, he was a member of the Mixed Chorus Glee Club and Student Council at Enid high.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Meyer, two sisters, Mrs. Bruce (Dean) Rogers, Enid, and Linda Meyer of the home; two brothers, Donald Whittenberg, Enid and Max Whittenberg of Ponca City; maternal grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. John Cox of Keyes.

His father preceded him in death several years ago.

The casket will be open until service time and will remain closed following the service.
