Funeral service for Goldia “Goldie” R. Welty, 72-year-old resident of Rockport, Texas, formerly of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 6 p.m. today, April 21, 2009, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

She was born April 11, 1937, in Bakersfield, Calif., to J.L. Quillin and Trula Faye Leeper. She had six brothers and two sisters. In 1948, she resided with Jed and Alys Heffron. She graduated from Blackwell General Hospital as an LPN on Sept. 16, 1957. She was a nurse for over 40 years and married Quinton C. Welty Dec. 23, 1959. She was a former member of Evangel Assembly of God.

On Friday, April 17, 2009, she passed away surrounded by her loving family.

Goldie is survived by three children, Patty Hawthorn and husband Scott, Steve Welty and wife Tammy, and Quintina McDonnel; 11 grandchildren, Shane and Jessica Welty, Craig Welty, Micheal Helton, Josh Welty, Robert and Amber McDonnel, Stephanie McDonnel, Mel-issa, Randal, Amy, Dustin and Kateland; five great-grandchildren, Quinton Welty, Haidyn and Zaylon Mc-Donnel, Dylan, Ruby and one expected in November; brothers, Mike Heffron of Oklahoma City, and J.B. and Ray Heffron, both of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Cathie Sipe of Odessa, Texas; also Rick Quillion of Chickasha; Glen Quillin of Yukon and Kenneth Quillin of Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
