Novella Marie SKAGGS WEBER
Enid News and Eagle
Enid, Garfield Co., OK
July 7, 2011
Submitted by: Lois Burdick

The funeral service for Novella Marie Skaggs Weber will be Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Central Christian Church. Rev. John McLemore will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be this evening from 7-9 p.m. in the Henninger-Hinson Chapel.

Novella departed this life with the angels to watch over her beloved wheat fields on Monday, July 18, 2011, of natural causes. She was born on the family farm in Lahoma, Oklahoma to Elmer Eli Skaggs and Bertha Lee Viers. The farm is to this date a working wheat farm acquired by her father during the 1893 Cherokee Strip land rush. She was a true “Boomer Sooner.” Her sister died in infancy and her mother died when Novella was four years old. She and her father enjoyed the years together on the farm, before Novella entered Enid High School. She married John Michael Weber and they settled in Enid to raise their son Gary Layton Weber. Mom survived breast cancer diagnosed in 1981 and numerous surgeries.

She left us with evidence of an admirable inner strength, love of nature, and animals. She loved her farm and she loved living in Florida and all the dear people who passed through her life. She leaves behind to forever share her life and stories her son Col. (ret) Gary Layton Weber, his wife Barbara Krage Weber, their children Gregory Michael and his wife Amy Karey Weber and Suzanne Weber-Grubb and her husband James Daniel Grubb, Jr. and their children Nicholas Andrew, Madeline Elizabeth, and Allison Marie. She is sadly missed by her “grand dogs “ Missy and Windy. If wealth is measured by the love of friends and family then mom takes an immeasurable wealth to present to St. Peter at the gates. We know her admission was instant.

The family invites you to a luncheon at the Ramada Inn beginning at one o’clock after the service. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the charity of one’s choosing.
