Funeral service for Mrs. Wilma D. Wear, 97 of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church, Enid, Okla., with the Rev. Gay Cocheres officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Wilma was born to Earl F. and Della D. Walker on Feb. 25, 1915, on the family homestead in Kay County, Okla., and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in Enid.

She was raised on her family farm outside of Newkirk, where she rode her horse to a one-room school house. She then moved to Arkansas City, Kan., to live with her aunt so she could attend high school. She graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1934, and attended business college in Wichita. She went to work at Kay Electrical Co. as an office manager in Blackwell.

She married Raymond M. Wear June 23, 1940. They lived and started a family in Blackwell, Okla. After her husband returned from the war, the family made their home in the country near Honeywell, Kan., where they lived for 18 years. They moved to Enid in 1964. She worked for Newman's Department Store for 15 years. She was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Enid.

She is survived by two sons, Myrl and Ron, and Myrl's wife Carolyn; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter. She touched many lives and leaves behind a multitude of people who loved her dearly. Her last wish for her loved ones was that they would be happy and live long fulfilling lives.
