Bellevue, Nebraska September 22, 1943 1921 ~ September 22, 1943 Second Lieutenant Walborn was test flying a B-25D Mitchell bomber (#42-87195) at Offutt Field, near Bellevue, Nebraska, when an engine fire caused a loss of control. The twin engine bomber crashed through the assembly plant of the Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Company. Lt Walborn, and two civilian employees aboard the plane, and a civilian employee on the ground were killed in the crash. Entered the service from Oklahoma; ASN O-670676 |
