August 23, 1930 - April 19, 2019

Ruby E. Wacker was born August 23, 1930 in Bandera, Texas to August and Agnes (Duff) Kalka and died April 19, 2019 in the Commons in Enid.

Ruby was born and raised in Bandera, Texas. There, she met and fell in love with an airman named Kenneth E. Wacker. They were married at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bandera in 1948. The military took her husband and her all over the world, including Japan and Taiwan. While traveling the World for the Air Force, Ruby was a loving Mother to their six children.

No matter where they were stationed, Ruby always found ways to serve others. Whether it was through her Catholic Church or the kindness of her heart, she was quick to respond to the needs of others.

Ruby had a passion for creating beautiful things. She loved cake decorating, crocheting, baking, and cooking. She and her husband were also avid bowlers and card players. She loved children and was known by many as "Granny Ruby".

Upon retiring from the military, they chose to reside in Enid, Oklahoma. After all the children were grown, Ruby returned to school to obtain her GED. She continued her studies at Francis Tuttle Vo-Tech in Oklahoma City and studied Nutrition and Dietetics while working at Bass Baptist Hospital in the Dietary.

Ruby is survived by six children, Sharon "Suchitra" Davenport of PA; Alan Wacker; Robert Wacker and wife, Linda; Gary Wacker and wife, Debra, all of Enid; David Wacker and Angela Sparks, both of OKC; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth and five siblings.

Ruby's funeral service will be graveside 11:00AM, Thursday, April 25, 2019 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 8AM to 8PM at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

The family of Ruby Wacker would like to extend sincere thanks to The Commons for the love and care was given to Ruby during her stay. She was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Memorials can be made to OMRF (Alzheimer's Division) with Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home acting as custodians of the fund.
