Donald Rufus Williams
November 13, 1933 - June 21, 2008

Funeral services for Donald R. Williams will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Steven Meier officiating. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

He was born on November 13, 1933 in Enid, Oklahoma to R. J. and Pearl (Smith) Williams and died on June 21, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital.

Donald attended local schools and completed his education in the United States Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, he served in the Korean War as well as two terms in the Vietnam War. On July 13, 1956 he married Carol Horton in Dallas, Texas. They lived in many places while he was on active duty and, after 20 years of service, made their home in Enid upon his retirement as Tech Sergeant in 1972. He then began working at the Enid Terminal Grain Elevator for 17 years before retiring as superintendent.

Donald loved to woodwork, camp and work in the yard. He was an avid fisherman who loved to fish at the Salt Plains. For many, many years Donald was also a member of the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Carol of the home; five children, Donna Hall, Rick Williams, Mike Williams, Debra Williams all of Enid and Robert Williams of Missouri as well as 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandchild, Andrea.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice with Henninger-Hinson acting as custodians of the fund.
