Maxine Lucile Wichert (Teske)
Tuesday, December 15th, 1925 - Sunday, February 12th, 2023

Funeral services for Maxine L. Wichert, age 97, of Enid, will be 2:00pm, Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Bible Baptist Church with Reverend Terry Chick officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Maxine was born December 15, 1925 in Enid to Arthur and Ella (Hoeltzel) Teske and passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Golden Oaks Retirement Home in Enid with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.

She graduated from Enid High School in 1943. Maxine worked at S & Q Clothier for a time before she married. She played the piano at Enid Bible Church and at Bible Baptist Church for junior church for many years. Maxine was involved with child evangelism. In January of 1948 she married the love of her life, Alvin Wichert. Alvin was devoted to her for over 72 years.

Maxine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; and her siblings.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Wichert and wife Jerilyn, of Hamburg, Michigan; daughter, Janice Peterson and husband Alan, of Enid; five grandchildren, Kim, Kristy, Jeremy, Tanner and Emily; nine great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family and friends.

Memorial donations in Maxine's name may be made to Bible Baptist Church or Humanity Hospice with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.

Maxine's favorite color was purple. Please feel free to wear purple to the service in honor of Maxine.
