Funeral services for Wayne Webb, 83-year-old Woodward resident, will be Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in the Living Word Fellowship in Woodward. The Rev. Eric Cox will officiate. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Enid under the direction of Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service.

Wayne Wilford Webb was born on Oct. 6, 1924 at Enid, Okla., to Charles and Rosie (Brakhage) Webb. He attended the Enid schools where he graduated from high school in 1942. Wayne then joined the United States Army Air Corps and served as a tail gunner on a B-17 during World War II.

On Oct. 18, 1946 Wayne was united in marriage to Faye Dunlap at Enid and in 1951, they made their home in Woodward. Wayne did various kinds of work, but was best known as a painting contractor. He was very good at his work and took much pride in the jobs he had completed. He served as a board member of the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Oklahoma and was very active in the local and state VFW organization. Wayne had served as Chief of Staff to the State Commander of the Oklahoma VFW. In his leisure time he enjoyed dancing, fishing and traveling, especially to Red River, N. M.

Mr. Webb died Thursday morning, Jan. 31, at the Woodward Regional Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Wayne is survived by his wife Faye of the home; one son, Dennis Webb of Woodward; on daughter, Dru and husband John Beard of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren, Jeromy, Dustin, Darin, Heather, Stephanie and Johnny; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association with the funeral home accepting the memorials.
