ENID — Funeral service for George Von Schriltz, 86, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at Anderson - Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be 5:30-7 p.m. today at the funeral home .

George was born to N. Ralph and Tracie (Anthem) Von Schriltz on Aug. 7, 1925, in Woodward and died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at The Commons in Enid.

He grew up in Woodward County.

George then served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his discharge, he returned to Seiling and graduated from high school there.

On Jan. 8, 1949, he married Coralie Enderbsy in Higgins, Texas. They moved to Enid in 1950.

George worked for various freight companies over the road until 1960. He then worked for Graves Truck Lines for 23 years until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

George is survived by daughter, Sharon Von Schriltz of Moore; son, Roland Von Schriltz and wife Pam of Enid; five grandchildren, Casey Von Schriltz and wife Jayme, Laura Winters and husband Allen, Kersten Shands, Karissa Bates and Mica Walters; three great-grandchildren, Adara, Ellee and KayLynn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Coralie in 2002, parents, and sister Izola.

Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Youth Camp Fund or Hospice Circle of Love.
